Measurement and testing expertise: In-house laboratory for sampling and validation

An external testing laboratory takes weeks to deliver results. During a production ramp-up, those are weeks that simply cannot be spared in the schedule. That is why KE Elektronik has a wide range of in-house measurement and testing equipment available for sampling, validation, and analysis.

These include cross-section analysis and crimp height measurement, tensile and compression tests, leak testing, and environmental simulation involving temperature cycling, thermal shock, and climatic conditions. We test data cables in our own high-frequency laboratory.

We use state-of-the-art 3D coordinate measuring machines, 3D surface scanners, and industrial computed tomography/X-ray technology to inspect our components. This allows us to analyze components quickly, precisely, and non-destructively.

The results are fed directly back into design, development, and manufacturing. If a cross-section reveals an anomaly, the person responsible for the process is right there in the same plant—not in a different time zone.

Automotive and aerospace customers evaluate not only the component but also the process behind it. Process audits in accordance with VDA 6.3, initial sampling in accordance with PPAP, and customer-specific requirements determine how we measure, approve, and document. From sample approval through series production approval to failure analysis, the entire chain remains traceable.

Test equipment and fixtures are manufactured in-house, tailored to the specific component. This allows us to test exactly what the application requires, rather than being limited by the capabilities of off-the-shelf equipment.
